2025 Track and Field Season
Spring Track and Field Season is approaching fast! We are welcoming the largest Track and Field group since before COVID and are so excited for our athletes to get started!
UPDATE 3/31/25: The Roster and Waitlist are full, and we are no longer accepting new registrations. You will be advised by email if you are moved from the waitlist to the roster.
APRR has five coaches for Track and Field, as well as several high-school Junior Coaches. We have many athletes on the waitlist and would love to be able to provide this program to as many children as possible! To operate our programs safely and effectively, we need a few more volunteer coaches. If you are interested in coaching, please email [email protected].
Our FIRST Practice is Monday, April 21, 2025 at 6:30 pm on the Averill Park High School Track. Parents, please stay after check-in, so that we can hold a brief informational meeting.
Practices will be at the Averill Park High School Track on Monday and Thursday nights from 6:30 pm to 7:45pm.
We are looking forward to a great track and field season with you!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The success of our programs depends heavily on community involvement. This year, many of our long-standing coaches, board members, and volunteers will move on from APRR. We need your help more than ever to continue providing a fun and challenging environment for youth athletes.
We need volunteers for the following positions:
Coach: Familiarity and/or experience with track and field events is preferred (running, long jump, shot put, javelin, etc). Coaches will attend practices regularly and assist at meets.
We’re excited to offer a special incentive for T&F Coaches: Athlete(s) registration fees will be waived/reimbursed if a parent volunteers to coach Track and Field. Coaches must complete a background check and safe sport training before April 1, 2025 to qualify for this incentive. All costs associated with the check and training are reimbursed.
Assistant Coach: No experience with track and field is necessary. Assistant Coaches supervise athletes and assist coaches and junior coaches, attend practices and meets.
Parent Volunteer: As in past years, parents are expected to volunteer to assist at least two practices. No experience with track and field is necessary. Sign-up information will be provided at registration.
If you are interested, and/or have questions, please reach out to us at [email protected].
