What is Averill Park Road Runners?
For over 15 years, the Averill Park Road Runners (APRR) has provided community-based running programs to children aged 7 - 14. We hold a spring Track and Field season and a fall Cross Country season.
Averill Park Road Runners is 501(c)3 Non-Profit organization which is run entirely by community volunteers. The success of our programs depends heavily on community involvement. What ages are allowed to participate?
Athletes aged 7 to 14 years old may join APRR.
An athlete’s age is determined by their age on the last day of the calendar year. For the 2024 season, athletes born between 1/1/2017 and 12/31/2010 are eligible to join.
When is Track and Field season?
Track & Field Season begins in April and runs through the Junior Olympics Qualifiers in June, where kids can then qualify for the Junior Olympics Regionals or Nationals later in July.

Cross Country Season begins in September and runs through the Junior Olympics Qualifiers in November, where kids can then qualify for the Junior Olympics Regionals or Nationals later in November and December.

When is Registration?
Registration for Track and Field typically opens in March.
Registration for Cross Country typically opens in August.
Do you have to live in the Averill Park District to participate?
Any student ages 7-14 can join Road Runners; They do not need to reside within the Averill Park Central School District boundaries.
